GDHIF grant been reduced for Solid Wall Installations!

Due to the high levels of engagement and customer demand for the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF); from Friday 25th July the Department of Energy & Climate change will be reducing the current £6,000 grant down to £4000 for new applicants that are wanting Solid Wall Insulation. Current rates are being honoured for all applications received before midnight on Thursday 24 July 2014. In addition to this, flue gas heat recovery with be removed from the list of eligible measures from 5th August 2014.

The department have announced these changes after the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund has smashed the £50 million milestone in just six weeks! With changing the rates they are hoping that the scheme will be around for longer and in turn more people will then benefit from the scheme!

Once this year scheme is exhausted it will be closed to any new applications.

The next energy efficiency scheme will be then launched from April 2015 with at least £120 million available for similar energy efficiency schemes like the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund.
